garden of earthly delights.
Jan. 3rd, 2026 07:55 pmThe other day, I stumbled upon this post, encouraging people to document things that inspire them. I already intend to document my progress in regards to my writing, and I thought, why not highlight the week's delicacies in the same breath? The year has had a rough start, and so I've decided that is what I shall do. And so, here we go.

In regards to my progress in writing:
In the next week, classes will begin again, and I will have less time to read and write for pleasure, but hopefully, I will be able to do so all the same. What were the delights of your week?
In regards to delights:
- This week, a new year began.
- I have become rather enthralled with The Will of Many, and have read upwards of 300 pages since the year began. The book itself is over 600 pages, and is gearing up to be a favorite, up there next to The Traitor Baru Cormorant.
- Top track this week is Malasana by Hania Rani.
- I've decided to begin rewatching films directed by Joe Wright, ie. Anna Karenina, Atonement, & Pride & Prejudice. Realistically, I'm not going to watch any outside of these, but I think I will pivot to watching Jane Austen's work that have been adapted into film.
- Enjoyed this solo-directed video based on Dian, an ancient country in China.
- I enjoyed a number of fanfictions this week. I have linked a few of them below:
- Benediction by NDN98 [Arcane]
- this is hungry work by toastedbagel [ASOIAF]
- A Hand With No Lines by thehouseofblack [Illiad]
- doll parts by preakergirl [ASOIAF]
In regards to my progress in writing:
- For WCtW, I wrote 2,209 words this week (only counting since the beginning of the year)
- I wrote and published a microfic on Ao3, totaling 1,049 words.
In the next week, classes will begin again, and I will have less time to read and write for pleasure, but hopefully, I will be able to do so all the same. What were the delights of your week?
